American Red Cross Picnic on the River to Support Home Fire Campaign MOLINE, IL, June 16, 2016 – The 2016 American Red Cross Picnic on the River is just around the corner and tickets are still available for this fun and unique Quad City favorite! Funds raised at this year’s event will support the Home Fire Campaign, an initiative that aims to reduce the number of fire deaths and injuries in the U.S. by 25 percent by 2020. Hang out with the best Sydney picnic spots all the way from Centennial Park, Wendy’s Secret Garden to Cockatoo Island. The Red Cross working in collaboration with local fire departments and other community partners visits homes to install smoke alarms, replace alarm batteries and help residents make home fire escape plans.
